What is Rebirthing Breathwork?

The Method

Rebirthing Breathwork is a powerful breathing technique that guides you into a deep meditative state. Through conscious, connected breathing, physical tensions, emotional blockages, and mental limitations dissolve.

This technique combines ancient wisdom about life energy and chakras with modern neuroscientific insights about the connection between breathing, the nervous system, and consciousness.

Through the continuous, circular flow of breath, the parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated, and the body shifts from fight-or-flight into a state of deep relaxation. In this safe atmosphere, suppressed emotions, memories, and beliefs can surface without needing to be relived.

Emotional Healing

Free yourself from suppressed emotions and transform old wounds into strength and understanding.

Physical Relaxation

Deeper Understanding

What is Rebirthing Breathwork?

What Makes Rebirthing Breathwork Special

Unlike many other breathwork forms, Rebirthing is a very gentle yet intense process. It's not based on pressure, but on letting go, both physically and emotionally. The breath is not forced but flows in a circular, connected, conscious way.

Learn More About How It Works

Conscious breathing works like an internal detox program. Oxygen saturates every cell, circulation is stimulated.

The breath directly influences the autonomic nervous system – the system that automatically controls bodily functions like heartbeat, breathing, or digestion.

Through conscious, connected breathing, the parasympathetic system is activated – the part responsible for relaxation, regeneration, and emotional balance.

Simultaneously, the vagus nerve is stimulated – a central nerve that connects the heart, lungs, and digestion to the brain. It's considered key for relaxation, emotional resilience, and healing processes.

The prefrontal cortex – responsible for planning, deciding, and controlling – takes a step back.

Instead, deeper, emotionally shaped structures like the amygdala and hippocampus become more active.

The amygdala processes emotional stimuli like fear, stress, or threat.

The hippocampus stores experiences and links them with memories.

Through conscious breathing, these areas receive better blood flow and become calmer – emotional tensions can dissolve, memories can emerge with new clarity.

The electrical activity in the brain changes:

Brain waves slow down from Beta (active thinking) to Alpha or Theta – states we know from deep meditation, trance, or the transition to sleep.

In precisely these states of consciousness, old, suppressed feelings can surface – and be gently released.

Emotions that have been suppressed or held unconsciously for a long time can be consciously experienced again – including anger, grief, shame, but also joy, vitality, and relief.

Unprocessed feelings often remain stored in the body – in tissues, muscles, or the nervous system.

Through conscious breath and inner presence, they can enter consciousness – and show themselves, be felt, and released.

During the session, many people step out of the constantly active thinking mode. The brain switches to slower wave ranges (Alpha/Theta), often accompanied by clarity, inner images, deep insights, or a feeling of connection to the greater whole.

Space emerges for new thoughts or for soothing silence.

Rebirthing is thus a bridge: Between body and consciousness. Between science and feeling. Between what you believe and what you have long sensed.

Rooted in Stillness

How Does Rebirthing Breathwork Work?

1

Connected Breathing

Through gentle, connected breathing without pauses between inhaling and exhaling, you activate your parasympathetic nervous system and create a state of deep relaxation.

2

Energy Flow

The increased oxygen supply and altered state of consciousness dissolve blockages and enable a free flow of life energy through your body.

3

Integration

In this protected space, suppressed emotions and memories can surface, be accepted, and integrated – without having to relive them.

4

Transformation

Through conscious acceptance of what is, old patterns and beliefs can be released and replaced with new, empowering perspectives.

"Everything may be present. Everything may be felt. Nothing needs to be changed."

Your Questions

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What if it doesn't work for me?

It always works, but in different ways. Sometimes subtle, sometimes intense. Your system determines the pace.

Can I lose control?

No. It's not about losing control, but about surrender. You decide at any time how far you want to go.

Is it like hyperventilation?

No. Rebirthing is conscious, gentle, circular. It brings your system into regulation, not stress.

Can I do something wrong?

No. Your body knows what to do. You can trust – the process, your breath, yourself.

What if strong emotions arise?

Then you're exactly right. I'll mindfully guide you through whatever emerges. Nothing needs to be fixed, everything is allowed to be.

How long does a session last?

About 90 minutes. Including arrival, breathing, and integration.

How often should I do this?

As often as feels right. Some come regularly, others as needed.
